PQ Imports is a family owned company formed in 1986 by Paul & Joy Quilter, to import specialist audio brands. Brands are selected for Quality, Design, Style, and of course, musical reality.

We are 100% NZ owned, with our warehouse and staff all located in Hamilton NZ.

For over 4 decades we have been providing New Zealand with fine audio components. We have received numerous accolades and Best Buy awards for many of these superb products, ranging from ProAc to Magnepan, REL & VTL. More recently we have become the sole NZ distributors for Advance Paris, an exciting new French brand which joins Ruark from the UK, GoldenEar from the USA, and T+A from Germany in our portfolio.

Whether you are looking for a small compact music system, right up to a “no cost spared” High End system, with wireless music streaming. A full Home Theatre system or just a cable to connect an item, we can give you the best products at a fair price.

We represent a wide range of brands covering entry level, right up to the most extreme of the esoteric.

We have a dedicated demonstration room for High End music systems, where you will find Magneplanar loudspeakers paired with REL subwoofers driven by VTL amplification with a T+A source.

Very popular in Home Theatre systems are Audio Control Processors, receivers and amplifiers paired with GoldenEar loudspeakers which feature in-built powered subwoofers.

Above all else, we select and import brands that have a synergy with each other and produce a sum that is greater than the parts – incredibly lifelike and emotionally satisfying!
